An easy, twisty read that I couldn’t put down – even in its most unbelievable moments.

Blurb: Aria Miller used to think she had the perfect life, but now that the honeymoon phase is all but a distant memory, she can’t shake the feeling her perfect life is a sandcastle waiting to collapse.
Recently she’s felt a prickle of anxiety when her husband Ethan says he has to work late. She’s trying to shake the feeling that he’s been lying. After all, trusting men has never worked out well for Aria… But sweet, kind Ethan has never given her a reason not to trust him, has he?
Perhaps the stress of trying for a baby is finally getting to her, recently she swears she feels someone is watching her as she grabs her morning decaf coffee. Then, during a girls’ night that was supposed to take her mind off things, her best friend Isla is brutally murdered in a dark bathroom bar.
Aria is still reeling from the shock when the text arrives: How well do you know your husband?
And suddenly, amid a police investigation and Ethan’s increasingly strange behaviour, Aria is forced to question everyone around her – including herself.
My Husband’s Lies by Maryann Webb: The review
I don’t think I’ve ever read a book genuinely in one sitting before. This is the first — keeping me company during a sleepless night and a 3.30am airport trip. I’ve gone into My Husband’s Lies knowing next to nothing about it, but I liked it that way. It’s a story that’s engrossed me and kept me turning the pages — even if sometimes it’s been a little too far-fetched.
This is the story of Aria who, until recently, thought her marriage to Ethan was perfect. They’ve been trying for a baby, but recently he’s been pulling away. She’s scared he’s having an affair, and on a night out with friends, she thinks she might open up about her concerns. But her night takes a very dark turn when one of her friends is found dead in the club’s toilets. And from there, things for Aria only go from bad to worse.
Somehow, Ethan must be involved. Was he having an affair with her friend? Did he arrange for her to he killed? Is Ethan the man Aria thinks he is? Aria’s web is absolutely spinning, and she doesn’t know who, or what, she can believe.
There’s a huge web of lies to be uncovered over the course of My Husband’s Lies, one that you’ll be desperate to get to the bottom of. It will keep you on your toes, and as new characters are introduced, you’ll be questioning just about everyone, just like Aria herself is.
Did I see the ending coming? No, but I lapped up every second of its build-up, even if in the back of my mind some of it was just a little too far-fetched. Webb has written this in such a way that I couldn’t help but hang on to every word regardless. It’s an easy-to-digest thriller, one that might not be too memorable in a few months’ time, but one that was absolutely perfect for spending a sleepless night with. It kept me awake and alert, turning each page with gusto.
If you enjoy domestic thrillers, and the likes of Freida McFadden and K.L. Slater, I think you’ll love this.
