Wondering what new books you might have to read in February? I’ve got good news and bad news. Good news? There’s so much to choose from. Bad news? There’s so much to choose from. Below, you’ll find a list of some of the best books releasing in February.
This is far from an exhaustive list, but these are the books that have piqued my own interest, have already made a splash, or deserve some attention. Most books on this list fall under the crime/thriller banner, but because I like to brand out here and there, you’ll also find some romantic comedies and women’s fiction thrown in. Sorry, fantasy lovers: this list isn’t for you.
February 2026 releases: Highlights
There are some seriously exciting releases out this month. Jennie Godfrey’s The Barbecue at No. 9 is out on the 12th February, a slow and suspenseful novel set over the course of one day, as a street throws a party for the Live Aid concert. In my review, I called it “quietly remarkable”. I’m also very excited for Chris Bridges’ The Death Bed, his novel following last year’s brilliant debut, Sick to Death. That lands on 26th February, alongside Witch Trial by Harriet Tyce. Following on from her excellent performance in The Traitors, I’ve no doubt that’s going to be a runaway success.
